Olbia, March 10, 2022. The notes of John Lennon in the background to accompany the gestures of the of the volunteers who have spent the last few days collecting and organising thirty tonnes of everything needed to help and support those fleeing the war in Ukraine.
Once again, indifference did not prevail and the strength of solidarity was not long in coming: Sardinian and Ukrainian citizens were able to work within the space of the Delta Center of Gavino Murrighile, together with the Citizens' Immigrant Organisation (OCI Association), setting the first load in motion with one of our trucks, which will reach Piacenza from Olbia, with the journey by ship being organised by Grimaldi, while the journey from Piacenza to Poland is financed by Unasca, the driving school association, for which the provincial secretary is Tiziana Oggianu of Nuova Autoscuola, who also handled the logistics.
In short, it is unity that makes us strong, to participate, to be there, to be aware that only in this way will we be able to overcome a historical period that none of us wanted to imagine.
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
